Playing back videos

You can upload videos to my Picturetown and play them back from the site.

The following example explains operation using Internet Explorer 7 and Windows XP.

Note:

  • QuickTime is required to play back videos. If QuickTime is not already installed in your computer, install it before trying the below procedure.
  • Some AVI files may not play back in the browser. In such cases, download the AVI file before starting playback.

  1. Click on the button in the lower right-hand corner of an album or thumbnail in the index.
    The Information Bar window appears.

  2. Click on the [Close] button in the Information Bar window.

    Note:
The Information Bar window does not appear with some computer settings. In such case, proceed to step 3.

    Memo:
Placing a checkmark in the “Don't show this message again” checkbox keeps the window from appearing again.

  3. Click on the “This website wants to run the following add-on: 'QuickTime' from 'Apple Inc.'. If you trust the website and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here...” message in the Information Bar window.

  4. Click on [Run ActiveX Control] in the menu that appears.
The message “Do you want to run this ActiveX control?” appears in the Internet Explorer – Security Warning window.

  5. Check that “QuickTime” appears for the Name and “Apple, Inc.” for the Publisher, then click on the [Run] button.

  6. The Video Playback window appears. You can adjust the volume, pause, resume, fast-forward and rewind the video from the buttons in the window.
You can also pause and resume playback using the [space] bar and [Enter] key, respectively.

    Memo:
You can install QuickTime from the page that appears after clicking the URL next to “Please install QuickTime from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/ to play this file.”
